My desire to watch cartoons started as what a little child used to be. It started with watching it more than understanding the storyline and seeing moving images doing things a child would be joyful to watch and not minding what they were talking about and what the random stories wants to convey.
Understanding it would preferably start as I enter school-age, that I would regularly look forward watching it because I am now eager to know what's next.
I can reminisce seeing myself watching the antagonist-protagonist characters of Tom and Jerry; the monochromatic Mickey Mouse version; Looney Tunes most loved characters Tweety Bird, Bugs Bunny, Felix the Cat, Taz, Marvin and Road Runner; the masculine-chick magnet Jonny Bravo; Blossoms, Buttercup and Bubbles save Towns Ville theme in Power Puff Girls; and Disney Princesses like Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Pocahontas and who could forget Cinderella - but I can't resist watching and convincing myself as one of their Knight in Shinning Armors (not to mention The Beast).
Remember this?
Seeing Mickey mouse transform from black and white 2D to colored 2D and now children can watch Mickey Mouse and his friends in 3D motion pictures.
Sleeping Beauty's classic fairytale and her sleeping enchantment made by an overlooked witch to Maleficent being the center of the story not as an overlooked witch but as a vengeful fairy driven to curse princess Aurora, only to discover that the the princess' fall may only be restored from her curse by her own acts of true love. This shows how far a 2D cartoons made, from basics to changed storyline to real life characters portrayed by well picked actors and actresses.
Conclusion
These were just few of the representations of transformation that the technological advancement and a work that the computer age made and explored - even to the viewing experience we are now enjoying. The 2D cartoon has been the foundation for the development of new 3D cartoons and even the basis of new stories today that has been revealed in the movies. I am actually amazed at the drawings and design of the 2D and their imagination.
